Breakfast, a parade, and dancing in the festival tent
The highlight of the anniversary celebrations was the events held on Sunday in and around the festival tent at the Fünfhausen sports complex.
To celebrate its anniversary, the traditional costume group invited two partner groups—the Neustadt/Holstein Folk Dance Group and the Winsen/Luhe Folk Dance Group—to a cozy breakfast. During the event, our dance instructors surprised our department leadership with a wonderful anniversary cake. It was immediately cut and enjoyed. After a leisurely breakfast at the Fünfhausen community center, we lined up for group photos and then for the parade. After a lap through town, the parade led to the festival tent at the sports complex in Fünfhausen. The Neuengamme Fire Department’s marching band played in the tent to entertain the crowd over coffee and cake, and the Vierländer Trachtengruppe performed colorful dances from their repertoire. Bernd Hars shone as a soloist with songs from Hamburg. Between musical performances, the Neustadt Folk Dance Group and the Winsen Folk Dance Group also showcased their dancing skills in a varied, lively dance program.
